Ready Player One

Playing video games is an activity, which helps me relax and let my mind wander. I’ve heard about Ready Player One a few years ago and many readers raved about the book, so when I saw that the movie will come out soon at the cinema, i knew this was the moment when I had to, finally, read the book.

☆☆☆☆ (4.25/5 stars)

Starting from the prologue, I was captured in this world. Hearing about easter eggs and video games made me automatically grin, becoming even moire engaged in the story.

Level One

Being human totally sucks most of the time. Videogames are the only thing that make life bearable.

A little bit of free time

I really have to work on my scheduling skills because I want and know I can do all of the things I want to do. As you can see, I’ve been away for a few weeks for two reasons:

  • I had to prepare for an exam
  • My E-Business & Internet Marketing project for my Master had to be done, as I was behind with it

Next up, I have to do my next project for Advertising and Sales Promotion but it’s due in one month. So if I start now and be more persevering then I should finish it on time or maybe early. Master things are pretty much boring and sadly they take up much of my time as I have to do my research, find references and write a lot. I haven’t draw in quite some time and I told myself I would finish a sketchbook at the end of March.

In any case, what I can show you is a small haul for the next post as I acquired a few random things and I can tell you more about books I’ve been reading up until now. Sorry for not being active but I assure you that I am not giving up on blogging. The ideas are buzzing in my head and they need to come out some time soon.

See ya ❤

Winter Findings

I am so glad that 2017 is over and soon enough winter will be over. Where I live, just a couple of days ago it decided to snow, we’re talking about heavy snow. Hopefully it won’t last that long. December went by at a slower pace but January and February have gone by so fast, it actually amazes me that the first days of March are already here.

Except for random movies and series, I have watched on TV, I didn’t manage to see so many movies at the cinema as I would’ve liked.

I really thought this movie would disappoint me, but it was actually rather funny with an amazing cast. The character I found to be most hilarious was the one played by Jack Black and the jokes revolving around him were also amusing. The duo of Kevin Hart and The Rock is always nice to see on screen and Karen Gilan is an actress I did not know I’ve seen her before (she portrays Nebula in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies). Creative weeks

For the last two years, I have been working for a lovely partner to make her 10 small artwork in the form of bookmarks for the Romanian Spring celebration day called Martisor. On the first day of March people gift each other a small symbol in many forms, which have a red and white string attached to it. This year I have been requested to make 20 such gifts, thus the following weeks my creative part of the brain had to come in action and I thought it would be a fun idea to share it with you.

First of all, I made a session of brainstorming ideas, what the beginning of Spring meant for me and what other symbols are associated with it. To come with 20 ideas doesn’t seem so hard, but once you reach a certain point you can get stuck and frustrated. After creating a list, I started making some sketches so I can visualize them better. As time passed (and must I say I didn’t have so much time on my hands), I wanted to get to draw directly on the paper, but firstly I had to go buy some art supplies. Continue reading

You have to calm down

Looking at starry skies always makes me feel relaxed

This blog starts to look more like a diary, at least for the last 2 posts, but here I am again writing about my latest experience and trying to share with you some tips. Last Monday, I had to turn in my Public Relations plan, both the written part and the recording with the presentation of the project. Let’s say the written part was easy, even though I was writing about a company I like, the many criteria, I had to meet, made the process more difficult.

The frustrating and scary part was the recording. We had to present the entire project and the main ideas in under 8 minutes (which was too little time), thus the speech had to be concise and you didn’t have time for breaks. Also, if you messed up something or it didn’t come out as you’d like it, you couldn’t edit it and had to record it all over again. After trying to record the presentation for over 10 times and getting frustrated, I, finally, managed to get it done. I saved the video and sent it, but the entire ordeal wasn’t over, because I had to sent a link that would send the professor to the video. That meant, I had to record it all over again in order to get the link. You can imagine that after 2 or 3 tries, I gave up and sent the link to a video, I didn’t want to replay it to see if it was good enough. Continue reading

January Goals

My newest passion is to write my monthly goals on a piece of paper and put it up on a bulletin board, so I can see them. After I achieve the goal, I put next to it a check mark and it gives me such satisfaction by doing this action. The goals are various things I want and need to do.

The first months of the year are depressing and not very productive for me. It is already the 1st of February and I can say that January has passed by quickly enough. Somewhere at the end of March and beginning of April is when I feel the productivity kicking in and actually feeling better. For January, I’ve written down more simple goals such as: Continue reading

The Beginning of my Journey

Starting this year, I have decided to really work on my dream to become an artist, which I have always neglected. Since I was a little girl, I have drawn whatever came in my mind. I had so many ideas and even though I didn’t have the necessary skills, I still drew so much. The biggest advantage I had, when I was young, was that I wasn’t afraid of failure or imperfections. I drew pages and pages of different characters and environments, and I couldn’t have been more happier with them. It’s not the same now. In the present time, I have higher expectations and, maybe, more complex ideas and a better understanding of how things should look like.

In any case, the action of drawing always calms me and I love losing myself in creating things. Sadly, I don’t have any kind of educational background in art. Everything I know I’ve taught myself with the help of the Internet and just observing other artists. Continue reading
